General Morin (Morin Regime)

The center of the eponymous Morin Regime . General Morin was a loyal servant of the Karnian Royal Family for decades, helping maintain decades of peace and prosperity through tactical wit and foresight. It isn't entirely clear what happened that created the man now known as Lord Morin. Perhaps Morin had always harbored a fear of non-humans that he buried deep down. Perhaps some specific moment led to a gnawing concern for his species at the expense of others. Regardless, Morin's coup was vicious and planned with every bit of the skill and cunning with which he formerly served. He carefully elevated loyal officers through the ranks, subtly filtering out less agreeable candidates and gently altering the trajectory of careers for intractable older staff. The end result was that nearly every key post of command at the heart of the Kingdom was filled with his men and most Royal loyalists of influence were pushed out to the periphery. His violent final conquest of Cardia resulted in the deaths of King Alfric I and Queen Peria. Morin's personal habits have changed little from loyalty to betrayal. Despite his fanatical policies, the man himself is the image of discipline and restraint. He arises before dawn without fail regardless of season. He lives with only modest luxuries and maintains a harsh regimen of physical training and swordplay amid his extensive duties. Much of his ruling is extended through his key generals, loyal allies from before the coup. His right hand man and former subordinate in the Royal Army, General Vilhem, oversees the tumultuous Hinterlands on his behalf. Morin is surprisingly nondescript for his key role in recent history. He stands just under 6 ft. with an athletic build and slightly receding dark black hair in a short cut. He keeps a dark well trimmed beard and has thick severe eyebrows over his dark eyes. He almost always dresses in a simple military uniform without adornment.
