Caroline is the only child in her family. As a bit of a latchkey kid, she became independent and strong-willed from an early age. Caroline valued family and wished to one day have her own to make up for her often-absent parents.
Caroline lived her life in Felize, working as a shopkeeper for many years and eventually going into business with her then-fiancé, Pierre. They ran Pierre’s Pastries, a small bakery in the city, for many years before selling it off in their old age. The establishment has been rebranded and changed hands, and now it supposedly exists as a book shop. She passed away at the age of 83, leaving behind her husband and daughters.
Meeting Sorin
Caroline was known to enjoy brisk walks, particularly during dusk. She preferred the lighting of sunset and one such night after dark had set, she met Sorin Von Zarovich. The exact details of their affair are disputed, with Caroline later telling her family she was hypnotized, while Sorin claimed that they had a loving relationship. During her first pregnancy, Caroline feared who might be the child’s true father and, perhaps to make a joke of her anxieties, named her firstborn Sorina. Staying late in Felize with her companions, Sorina was followed by Sorin. They all went with him to dinner after his unwillingness to hear the word "no." There, Sorin introduced Carolina Von Zarovich , and claimed that she was another child of his and Caroline. He claimed that he and Caroline were in a loving relationship, and worried about Sorina being alone, so they had another child. This goes against the doctrine of the vampire courts, which states that each vampire family may have only one full or part vampire child.
