Venus Orbital Transport Stations

Built in 2517, the Venus Orbital Transport Stations refers to four platform stations in medium orbits around Venus that act as a gateway between the cities above the planet's surface and the wider Sol System.

Purpose / Function

Very few ships can withstand the high pressers and extreme corrosivness of the Venusian clouds. So much so that during colonization, a whole new fleet of ships needed to be build to transport the newly built cities safely to thier deployment depths within the clouds, but once people were in the cities it was unsafe to try and leave again on small commercial or priivate vessels. What started as a single platform during Earthen rule, and later expanded into four, helped to solve this problem. Flying into Venus, a ship lands at one of the stations and gets the Planetorial coordinates of the city they want to visit. Once the station is in range of the destination city visitors and cargo are launched in a specialized transport ship designed to withstand the corrosive Venusian clouds. The reverse is true to leave the planet.

Defenses

Each station is protected by a cohort of ships from the VRCN Core Fleet. The stations themselves are also armed with 175 Xi-Series-C4L ADCs to repel any unwanted incoming craft or projectile.
