Utility

Xi Series Area Defense Cannons are primarily used as part of ship and station defensive systems. They are housed in contained wells within the hull and can be deployed either manually or through a connected system alert protocol, once deployed the ADCs automatically track and engage incoming projectiles within range of four kilometers. They can also be deployed in an offensive manner, however with less lethal effectivness against larger targets such as an attacking ship.
