The Iron Republic
There are few embarrassments that the Kingdom of Avalon has let stand, and we are one of them. Right off of a draw in the War of the Black-Woods, they get thrown off of Fiadhach and are then matched in power by what had been their own colony. I hope it still burres them to this day.

Structure
President: Elected head of state for the Iron Republic
Regional Governor: Elected by the City Governors to manage sections of the expansive country
City Governor: Elected official for the ruling of the urban centers of the Iron Republic. Also, act as impromptu military officials in the event that their city comes under attack.
Culture
The Republicene are a proud people. They take great pride in the nation they built, and the work they do. Prone to celebration, there are few around that can match their boisterous nature.
Family and Friends are some of the most important facets of Republicene society, with families unrelated by blood often melding together to form the basis for many of the Republic's ever-growing settlements.
From the outside, their passion can be viewed as brash and over-loud, and perhaps they are right. But you won't find anyone else so willing to back up a friend. Or throw a punch at someone who foolishly badmouthed the mother of their friend.

History
Founded by the Kingdom of Avalon, and abandoned by it during the War of the Black-Wood, the Iron Republic declared it's independence when Avalon came back and tried to reestablish control of their colonies. A ten-year war embarrassed the Kingdom of Avalon and earned the Republic it's independence.
All was not well as the nation attempted to form itself into a lasting shape. A handful of the freedom fighters thought the idea of having any government looking over them a thought too unappealing to bear. After they shook their collective fists and tried to make their case known, they realized that the majority of the nascent nation was unwilling to live in a state of anarchy, they grabbed their muskets and disappeared into the wilds. Most stories would end there, perhaps hinting that they might still be out there, but the Free States of Trace are much more than a hint.
Since then, the Republic has continued to flourish on their dangerous home continent. It's natural layout and resources providing the perfect place to grow a nation. The Mac'woin prairies providing the farmland that feeds the country, while the lumber of the Diomhearch woods providing lumber and magical reagents, and the mesas to the west providing rich veins of ore to be extracted and refined.

Technological Level
A leader in industrial technology, and up there in the application of magic for both civilian and military use, the Republic is viewed as an excellent place for the academic community to do their research, whatever it might be.
Religion
While not holding any political power, the Seven Nyads are widely worshipped across all of the Republic. Churches usually contain shrines to several of the Nyads, if not all of them, and parishioners place offerings on the shrines. Often gifts of food or alcohol, or other things that people enjoy.
The Nyads themselves busy themselves in the wildlands around civilized society but do make appearances occasionally. They preach cooperation with the land, the enjoyment of life, and the expansion of family. A very emotion heavy and hands-off religion.
Agriculture & Industry
The Republic has managed to build itself into an agricultural and an industrial power. The plains in the middle of the country provide huge swaths of farmland for both crops and cattle. While the arid mesas to the west provide the coal and oil that power their industry.
Trade & Transport
Goods are usually transported across country by rail, or by vehicle/cart if necessary. Intercontinental trade enters and leaves almost exclusively from the eastern coast, as much of the continents coastline is mostly cliff faces, with very little real estate for landings.
Education
Urban centers are integrating public schools over time, while agrarian families have to make an effort to educate their children if they feel that's necessary. They will often send their children to live with relatives, family friends, or even a boarding house if that is what is needed to get them in range of a school.
Infrastructure
- The Coldstream Highway follows the Goldwater River, providing an important artery for civilian travel.
- The Rillrunner Railroad is an important line of men and materials from the coast to the other side of the continent, passing through Bankshaw on the way.

Military equipment and industrial products rank as the most numerous exports, with raw and processed agricultural goods coming in at a close second.
Major Imports
The finer materials used to make jewelry or other 'high end' products must be imported, or the products themselves as things like Ivory or gemstones are rare across Fiadhaich.
Legislative Body
The Senate of Territories, made up of elected officials who collaborate with the governors of their areas, create and vote upon the laws of the Iron Republic. They have the ability to interfere with the president's power, should they become tyrannical, and have the ability to raise their own army if the proper conditions are met.
