The Light of the Black Sun - Brassbridge
The only school of Combat and Warfare within Caer Oswin not associated with its governmental powers. In fact, they have been known to parley with foreign governments, forming positive relations with most other kingdoms. Because of this, they have been preparing to expand their schools to more kingdoms. The first being one within Val Royeaux, with a hope of one being founded in The Westerlands after.
However, The Light of the Black Sun is more than a simple school of combat and warfare. Within its building contains the largest library know on Astapor. Many sages, scholars, and mages journey her to research topics of their interest. The monks of the monastery are not only taught to fight, but also of the importance of wisdom and knowledge. They are tasked with guarding, assisting guests, and providing additional information for its library.
Aside from the typical ranks within the monastery (cooks, scribes, librarians, ect...) there are two types of adventurers that "The Light" trains. Emissaries and inquirers.
Emissaries:
Members of The Light trusted to perform specific tasks, typically as diplomatic representatives. Most emissaries are stationed around the continent and required to send reports back to the monastery. Typically not as good fighters as Inquirers, Emissaries are focused on becoming integrated into the hierarchies of their assigned location. It is important that they do not become involved in the political activities of their area, at least not as a representative of "The Light," but instead to create fruitful relationships that reflect "The Light." Inquirers:
Member of The Light tasked to return information from beyond the reaches of The Light. Unlike most Emissaries, Inquirers are not stationed anywhere and are not required to "Check in" with the monastery. Their only task is to bring information back to "The Light" for their library. Then they are let loose into the world. Lectors:
Teachers within The Light, both classroom teachers and combat instructors, are referred to as "Lectors." This originated from the early days of The Light, when it was mostly school and not monastery. The reader's or "Lectors" in charge of developing the library were the same as those that taught the classes. Ever since then, all teachers are referred to as "Lectors" Auditors:
Though not an official rank within “The Light,” Auditors are looked at as those with authority. Becoming an Auditor simply means that a Pupil has been assigned to you. Your job is to be in communication with them, observing their achievements, and if/when you deem them worthy, you can declare them a specialist. Headmaster: Head of Emissaries: Head of Inquirers:

Over the years, these two organizations have developed a secret relationship, Arcane's Blood granting The Light access to their creations and The Light granting access to their library for mages wishing to do research.
The Light's wish to expand into Val Royeaux was heavily influence by their relationship with Arcane's Blood.
