God #4 Tarvaar
God of Darkness, Fear, and Doubt (a.k.a. god of the ocean depths)
The god of the Ocean Depths is one of the most dangerous and mysterious gods I have ever known. He lives in the deepest parts of the ocean surrounded by darkness. He causes the thermal vents to spew and the tectonic plates to shift.
No man has ever seen him face to face, only the unluckiest catch glimpses of his body. A horrible dismantled figure of rocks, silt, and fish, where the deep vastness of the ocean gets swallowed by his presence.

Tarvaar causes darkness to grow in the hearts of men, doubt to appear in their minds, and fear to invade their lives. He makes the ocean a magnificent blue-green color and causes its breath-taking waves, luring man out, telling him to cast his fears into the ocean. Where the fear will sink to the bottom, as heavy as a millstone, and be consumed by him. Although he is the god of darkness, doubt, and fear, many believe he is the god of Ocean becaue of the hundreds of legends that involve Tarvaar and connect him to the ocean. The simple reason for that is the men who wrote and created those myths and legends were terrified of the ocean.Beliefs
People who live on the coast claim on particularly windy and stormy days, when they can sense fear in the air, a crackle of doubt, a tingling of unease, he will rise from the sea. A dark, hulking thing with tentacles for hands, boulders for a body, and eyes made of glowing algae. Those who live in the central kingdoms think they are safe from him. Believing that he is fixed to the ocean. When he is the god of darkness, fear, and doubt, not the ocean. Nowhere is safe from him. And you would be foolish not to think so.Warnings
Tarvaar is as scary as he seems. He is not human and will never be. He will not sympathize with your plight or wish to help you. If anything he will send you on your way with more pain, suffering, and sorrow than before. Although he is a god (by all definitions), he is more monster than deity. A beast with no heart. Do not fall for his claims of being simply "misunderstood." He knows exactly who he is, and he does not care how you feel about it.Relationships

The fights they have are only fun during family reunions. Every other time it's kind of scary or annoying.

Thank you for taking part in the unofficial challenge! Creativity: 3,5 Verisimilitude: 5,5 Presentation: 4 Tarvaar could use more work; there's not enough detail here to really make more in-depth commentary. Some of the things that would be interesting to know is what is his interaction with the world, and how does the world interact with him. Do sailors make sacrifices before setting out on journeys? Do coastal time have wards they believe will avert his gaze? And so on. Right now, there isn't enough connective tissue between him and the world he exists in. The most interesting thing to me is the idea that he isn't actually a god of the ocean, but the belief of mortals has made him one... But that idea seems contradicted by his physical form (two different descriptions are given - not sure which one). It's something interesting! And if he doesn't care what you think, why would he claim to be misunderstood? Things to work on: Expand details, give some depth about who he is, what he does, who are his servitors, enemies, allies. Why does he do what he does? Connect him to the world, and the world to him. What does he do, and how does the world react to that? What superstitions and social norms have developed in response to Tarvaar's deeds and presence? What's his storyline? What are his ambitions and schemes, and how do they affect things in the story/world?

Hmm, thank you for your feedback. I will definitely think on the questions you've presented me and I'll see if I can fix those contradictions.
