Purple Squad
Since the beginning of the Von Aurach Crusade, when the unit saw it's first battles in the Sleipner Sector, Segreant Nsaka has re-shaped this unit from being a typical Kuati infantry unit into a fearsome unit which often finds itself in the thick of the action, fighting any and all opposition over any range- kilometres, using controlled volleys of lasfire and missiles, to millimetres, where combat knives and fists are the order of the day.
Structure
Purple Squad is organised along the lines of a standard Kuati or Astra Militarum squad.
Sergeant Nsaka leads the unit as the senior NCO and is supported by a corporal. The remaining eight are then managed as two fire teams, each lead by a lance-corporal and each specialising in either the use of a special or heavy weapon.

Culture
Since that first ever battle with the T'au, Purple Squad fight for each other and any wound or casualty within the unit is responded to with a vengeful fury, which does not subside until either the enemy or purple Squad lie in ruins or have fled. Even if an enemy flees or the Squad has to withdraw, Nsaka keeps a "hit list" in their unit tent ensuring that sooner or later, revenge is had.
This is often best displayed when the unit enters a battle and is quick to identify their target for the duration of the skirmish, stopping at nothing to bring them down. It has also grown to trophy collecting and so when a enemy has been dealt with, and is removed from the hit list, a trophy is taken, such as the T'au bonding knife that the sergeant wears at his waist. Typically, the attached commissars are aware of this and allow it to continue, but are watching so should an item too dangerous to be used as a trophy is kept, they will step in and have it destroyed.
Other units have begun to refer to them, as scalpers or headhunters, though usually quietly and out of earshot, for no-one wants to see if the hit list can be used for squads that they develop a grudge against!

Assets
Alongside their standard issue lasguns and bayonets, Purple Squad have also been allocated a grenade launcher, vox-pack and missile launcher, allowing them to coordinate anti- vehicle or anti-personnel roles, as required by Lieutenant Daniel Hillary, MI, changing roles to reflect the tide of battle.
