First Royal Crown Item in Skeigham | World Anvil

First Royal Crown

An artifact said to belong to Apac himself. Made from Iron, Gold, and stone and said to have arrived together with the gods in Skeigham. Its creator is unknown but is suspected to be either Apac or Maned.

The artifact has been part of the royal crown jewels of Ethoras for centuries. After the destruction of Ethoras in the Unfaithful Year the crown was considered lost. It was however found a few centuries later, well preserved in a coastal shrine in Ethoressi.

Since Ethroessi did not have a monarch after the destruction of Ethoras, the crown was instead brought to the Temple of Apac in Apacreos and heavily guarded.

Wearing the crown supposedly gives the wearer clarity of thought and passion for his subjects. Some claim it also provides the wearer with superior knowledge of tactics, but as far as history is concerned, the crown has never been worn by any leader during a time of conflict or military warfare. It is possible these effects are only attributed to the artifact, since they reflect the values of Apac himself.

It is told that Zecod, in his effort to influence the king of Ethoras, Gorom the Enlightened during the unfaithful year first manipulated him to never wear the crown. This would make him more vulnerable to the influence of his followers. Contrary to this, Canum Principas the most corrupted of the king's sons is specifically depicted with wearing the crown during the events of this year.
