Raven Day

Raven Day, sometimes known as Corvus Diem, is a holy day in most of Sirasea. It honors the divine beings associated with death and grief – Rekses, Ides, Kelemvor, The Raven Queen – as well as the dead. Temples to Ides and chapters of the Solemn Order of Rest sell tokens and food for family altars and gravesites, which supports their year-long work. Some communities put on plays where holy and laypeople recount the creation of their funerary practices and the stories of passage to the afterlife. Graveyards receive any needed maintenance and are thoroughly cleaned, with members of the Order assisted by locals in their communities. Offerings are made to Rekses, including animal bones and rotten fruit, to encourage him to show their communities mercy in the coming year.
