Solemn Order of Rest

The Solemn Order of Rest is both a professional guild and a religious order. Its civilian members include gravediggers, embalmers, and other cemetary/funerary workers. Clerics of Ides, warlocks and paladins of Kelemvor, and Way of Mercy monks might also join this order.

Death is but part of life: fear it not, evade it not, and view it not as evil. To fear death delivers you into the hands of those who can steal the joy of life. Die with dignity, neither raging nor despairing, nor seeking to embrace undeath. Do honor to the dead, for their strivings in life brought our world to us, and to forget them is to forget ourselves.
