The Raven Queen

The Raven Queen, or Matron of Ravens, is a divine being in the world of Sirasea. Her true name is unknown, and her preferred aspect is female. Her origin and the source of her power are lost, even to her, but it is likely that she was a student of Irone and Midona, attempting to learn the nature of life and magic in the world. Her ambitions were not malicious, but she could not control the raw power she sought in the way that the greater deities could. As the result of a great calamity that erased from time, she fled in her devastation to the Shadowfell, where the dark elemental sorrow began to rob her of what she knew in life. When it came time to seal the Material world of Sirasea away from the planes, she guided Lotharis (Osara's Exalted) to Ravenspool and destroyed the portal behind them both. It is said that she aids those who seek knowledge, especially of magic and the boundaries of life and death, and offerings are often made to her in the hopes that she can share a boon.
