Ennuria Alamaris
I thought I wouldn't be called the half-human again when I left Enarion.
I was right. But now everyone calls me the half-enari, so I'm not sure that's any better.
Ennuria Alamaris is mostly known as one of the best bards currently actively performing on Shireon. As the daughter of Kealee Alamaris, the heiress to House Alamaris in Enarion, she is also considered nobility. Though, if you meet her and don't know her upper class background, you'd never guess her social status.
Background
Born into one of the greatest noble houses in Enarion, Ennuria never lacked anything while growing up. Yet, growing up there wasn't exactly easy for her. Nobody except maybe her mother knows who her father is, but one thing is for sure. Ennuria's father isn't enari, but human. In every other family this would probably not be an issue. Yet, in House Alamaris, who historically pride themselves as the oldest and, well, most enari house in Enarion, it was a source of subtle tension.
It never was especially out in the open. Matron Elanaith knew it would look bad for the house to openly shun her grandchild. However, the Matron made sure her discontent was known inside the house, especially to her daughter, Kealee, and often while Ennuria could hear it. Kealee tried to soften the relationship between the matron and Ennuria, but to no avail. This was one of the reasons why Ennuria decided to leave Enarion as soon as she was old enough to do so.
A Life of Music
Despite everything, Ennuria's relationship to her mother was good. Kealee made sure her daughter inherited her fondness for music. In fact, Ennuria loved music so much that she decided to try to audition for the Minstrel's University and become a bard. If this was mostly because it would annoy Matron Elanaith as much as possible or a thing she would've done anyways is unknown. Ennuria is stubborn enough to get through the university just from spite, but she seemed to enjoy the experience of the university.
Ennuria decided that her bardic focus expertise would be flutes. Not one kind of flute, but all of them. Flutes are easy to carry with you on your travels, even when you have a few different ones. And there are just so many different kinds.
Marriage
Ennuria didn't initially want to get into any relationship, but at the start of AE 2092 she was invited to a high class party in Lenthir together with a few other bards to entertain the guests. In contrast to many other parties she had entertained at, she wasn't just invited to play. She was invited to attend the party as a guest while not playing. Ennuria disliked parties held by nobility, but she also knew it would be slightly rude to decline the invitation.
I didn't really have a choice in the matter. So I did my best, acted polite and according to nobility standards while slowly dying inside.
I saw this guy, standing in a corner, looking just as miserable as I felt about being here. So of course I had to speak to him.
It turned out I had met the only interesting person in the room. We decided to ditch the party as soon as I was done playing to drink somewhere more fun. It was the best decision I ever made.
That's how I met the love of my life: Aimar Lyari.
It took less than a year before the two had fallen so deep for eachother they had gotten married. The ceremony had happened in secret, only telling anyone after it had happened. This got mixed reactions, especially from Ennuria's family. Elanaith was clearly angry about not only keeping the ceremony secret, but Ennuria had gone and married not only a human, but a person who had been adopted into nobility from an unknown background. Kealee, on the other hand, was thrilled that her daughter had found someone she loved enough to get married to.
The relationship between Ennuria and Aimar has gotten a lot of critique from a lot of people. Married people are supposed to spend most of their time together, but the couple soon found out that they both needed personal time for this to work. Despite only seeing eachother for maybe a week or two each year between Ennuria's musical tours of Shireon, it works for them, and that's what matters.
