Agroth Unpossession

Yes, I've unpossessed someone before.

Once.

But the patient survived, so I know it works.

— Arch Druid Vinior

Until recently there was no way to get rid of an Agroth if you got possessed by one. However, the druids of Mynelion have found a way to remove a possessing Agroth from a person.

A Tough Process

To unpossess someone, the body will have to be weakened enough to loosen the Agroth's grip on the person. This means the afflicted will have to go without food and drink for days while being strapped to a chair or bed. The Agroth wil probably surface several times during this time, pretending to be the afflicted, pleading to be let go, they've changed their mind, they can't go through with it.

At one point, the afflicted's body will be near death from dehydration. This is the only point where the Agroth can be removed. The Agroth will likely resist, but its hold isn't as strong as it used to be. With a special kind of magic, the Agroth is ripped out of the body and sent to a suitable container, which is sealed as soon as it's filled.

As soon as the Agroth is out, the unpossessed person needs immediate medical attention to survive, if they're not already dead from the unpossession process. If the now unpossessed person survives, they can now go on with their life for the first time since they were possessed.

But Is It Possible To Do?

This is the tricky part. Most possessed people won't ever get the chance to even try the unpossession process. The main reason is that the process is fairly new, so word about it hasn't become widespread enough for there to be a chance to even hear about the possibility. It doesn't help that most people haven't even heard about an Agroth, much less know that they could get possessed by one.

Even if the possessed knows about the unpossession process, it's unlikely they'll get the chance to do it. The Agroth will do whatever it can to prevent its possessed body to do anything that might threaten its hold on it. Only someone with great skill in supressing the Agroth's control will manage to get to Mynelion and go through with the process. This kind of control takes at least several decades to master by even the strongest of minds, and even then the Agroth might be able to push through.

According to the Arch Druid Vinior, the only person who has successfully done an unpossession, there's only one possessed individual who has been able to suppress the Agroth's control and managed to travel to Mynelion to become free of this horrible affliction. However, Vinior refuses to say who this individual is.

Who I unpossessed?

Why would I even consider telling you that? The poor person has lived with an evil being in their head for several decades. Let the poor soul live the rest of their life in peace without myriads of people asking them about the worst part of their life.
