History
Created in 1945 to protect the world from worldwide threats such as Hydra, Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, otherwise known as S.H.I.E.L.D., has worked with governments worldwide to investigate and apprehend terrestrial threats. Founded by visionaries: Baron Harbin Zemo, Dr. Howard Stark, Prof. Johnathan Richards, and Col. Nicholas J. Fury, S.H.I.E.L.D. has continued to monitor, contain, and prevent supernatural phenomena for decades while working side by side with enhanced individuals. S.H.I.E.L.D. has also facilitated the advancement of science and technology pioneering fields such as gamma research and quantum manipulation. S.H.I.E.L.D. has just recently expanded its operations into two separate divisions: S.W.O.R.D., the division that monitors extraterrestrial threats, and A.R.M.O.R., the division that monitors multiversal threats. Additionally, S.H.I.E.L.D. has recently partnered with the Avengers to create the Avengers World Initiative to establish heroic teams of enhanced individuals on every continent.
