Session 1, Scene 3: One last confession
Plot points/Scenes
One last confession
It's a warm but overcast Summer morning in Sherberre. As the camera emerges from the clouds, and as the pink and red waves of the Crustocean spread out before us, we can see the towering Candia Mountains on the horizon. As we speed towards the purple peaks, the sheer scale of the Candy Cliffs of Fruitellona becomes apparent. These magnificent cliffs are made from candy mined from the mountains, hewn into giant cubes of all different colours and flavours. Born of a bygone era, they were built to protect from a threat that never emerged. As we travel over the mountains, we can see the city of Fruitellona in the background, with its candy mine and cherry, strawberry and banana orchards scattered at the foothills of the mountains. At the edge of the city, we find a small suburban community, and within that community we come to a church, the only Church of Truth on the island, and one of only a few outside of the Republic of Taurinestein. The church is very grand - the Temple of Torm spared no expense in building it, constructing it from candy mined from the mountains, and it has been the focal point of a vibrant community ever since. The church is surrounded by a tidy, well groomed cemetery, with lush red tress making the grounds a lovely place to take a stroll. Hidden among the trees is the vestry - a small but well built and beautiful house with immaculately kept gardens, ivy growing up the walls, and a puff of smoke escaping from a chimney on top of the thatched roof. We move in through an upstairs window to a bedroom decorated quite plainly, with a symbol of Torm the True above the door, and a large depiction of Torm the True on the wall just above the headboard of the bed. Nat, would you please describe who is packing the last of their things into a suitcase?Nat describes her character
You take the symbol of Torm with you as you know your parents would be mortified if you left it behind, and when you take down the poster of Torm, you flip it over to reveal the poster of Vincendio Flambe that you have stuck to the back of it. You place it on the floor, Vincendio side up, kneel in front of it, and say a prayer to your idol. How are you feeling this morning? What do you say to Vincendio?Nat's parents have prepared a massive breakfast downstairs and left a note saying "Don't forget to come and see us before you go!" Nat's character walks up to the church
Song - How Great Thou Art
Nat has final chat with her parents. Points to hit:- We know school has been tough
- Some of the other children have not been raised to reflect the virtues and ideals of Torm
- Be yourself in this new adventure, don't try to fit in - you shouldn't have to try to have friends... People should like you for who you are
- You will be fine if you bring Torm in your heart and be true to yourself
