Facial Features
A magical bolt, which should have killed him at Luenda but somehow did not, left a long scar which wraps Callahan's face in a way no physical blow could have done.

Social Aptitude
Due in part to his inexplicable survival at Luenda and in part to his gruff manners, Callahan is viewed with some discomfort and distance, even by other members of the Circle. Though all know the stories of tappers -- mages who can steal energy, healing, or life from others -- are children's tales and myth, and the Circle willingly brought him into their ranks with no fear of such a children's story, still his strange survival when so many others died and his brusque ways make it difficult to befriend him. That Callahan himself has no idea how he survived makes it hard for him to bridge the gap as well.
