Generic article | Apr 29, 2020

Conception happens when sperm penetrates an egg. At that point, it takes 300 days for the baby to be born. There are three trimesters to each pregnancy, each lasting approximately 100 days.

Jeris are rarely born in bear form. When it happens, it's because the mother had the child as a bear, so there is room for the child in its shifted form. The Jeris believe that a child born in their shifted form will be an especially powerful bear.

Growth Rate & Stages

The Jeris live for about 160 years. They begin school at 10 and their schooling ends at 27. Their coming of age is at 32 years old. Jeris spend the five years between their end of schooling and coming of age working with their parents, family or friends of their family to try out different jobs to see what they would work at the best. Most tend to get married and have children once they hit midlife at around 55-57 years old, unless they find the one that speaks to their soul. They still will wait to have children until they have hit their midlife.   0-5 years - Infancy

Ecology and Habitats

The Jeris live in the Jeridile Forest near the Korarth Mountain Range. They mine the mountain for a variety of minerals for use and trade. The trees of the Jeridile Forest are especially good for carving and furniture making as the wood turns a deep brown, almost black as the years past.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Jeris are carnivores and hunt the deer and antelope that live in the Jeridile forest and on the Jeridann Plains. They also have farm lands outside Jerid City.

Biological Cycle

The Jeris tend to be more restless and prone to fight during the summer and more likely to stay home and mate during the winter. This leads to most Jeris being born during the wintertime. They don't hibernate, but the cold does cause a sense of lethargy.
