Relic Night- Sinclaire (a.k.a. Rel, Cillian, Captain)

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Relic is tall and lithe, but very well defined in musculature and strength.  He moves like a warrior no matter how much he tries to hide it, and has very long fingers that are well suited to playing piano.  He's a beautiful man with a kind of exotic sharpness to him, all bronze and gold and black.

Relic wears an eye patch over his missing right eye.

Special abilities

As a daemon, Relic has command of Shadows.  He is also gifted with very limited Pyromancy, and is a peerless warrior.  He is most proud of the fact that he is an accomplished pianist and composer.  He is also a low level empath, useful when one is a daemon of Lust.

The daemon prefers modern business casual attire: vests and button downs over fine jeans.  He is very fussy about his cloths and has almost all of them well tailored.  He can be very informal wen left to his own devices, but for the most part is more on the formal side if he is expecting to engage with other people.

Personal history

Summoned under the Sin of Lust before the birth of Christ, Relic Night-Sinclaire has led a very colorful life.  After the death of his Summoner he was set free to wander the world and engage in all manor of sin and debauchery.  By the late eight-hundreds it had grown dull, however, and he settled into a more monastic life in northern England.  By the early eleventh century, he'd met and befriended the vampire Dark who belonged to the House of Night, and joined them.

The pair joined the Crusades where Relic became a Captain, and the keeper of one of the Templars greatest secrets.  Later he would be one of the knights who escorted the Holy Grail back to Europe. 

When the House of Night was all but destroyed on a Christmas Even in 1939, Relic lost his whole world, including, he thought, Dark.  He spiraled into a very dark place for a very long time.  Even learning that she lived did not wholly help him to recover, and it was only his duty to the Knights Templar that kept the demon from being utterly lost.  While he worked to reconstruct his life and pull himself out of the darkness, he began a lengthy and toxic relationship with the Fallen angel Andriel in the late nineties. 

Breaking up with an angel is not simple, and Relic did so by burning his club to the ground in downtown London.  It was shortly after that, he met Noah Sinclaire.  The two had a long anc challenging courtship which took place during some of the most challenging times in supernatural memory, but they finally got married and Noah soon after took over as the Head of House Sinclaire. 

Relic now serves happily as the right hand of his husband and retired Captain of the Knights Templar and Hunter of the House of Night.

Relic has worked as a Monk, an Assassin for the House of Night, a Captain of the Knights Templar, a Vegas lounge singer, and many other occupations over the long duration of his life.  Presently, he is 'retired' though he is no less of a force to be reckoned with.

Intellectual Characteristics

Though he might seem like a kind of roguish play boy or mindless warrior, Relic is actually happiest when he is permitted to pursue academic pursuits.  He loved his time at Lindisfarne and other ecclesiastical institutions.  He loves to compose music and has a very orderly mind.  For all that he is a daemon and is given most to his passions, he works very hard to be reasonable and level headed.  He values knowledge and books, going out of his way to preserve lost lore.

Morality & Philosophy

Though he is a daemon and it is in his nature to corrupt others, Relic lives a very regimented and disciplined life.  He believes in overcoming nature with better nurture and that there is near no one who cannot be redeemed if they wish it.  He is optimistic, and believes in the responsibility of the strong to protect the weak.  Nobleese Oblige has always been a part of the Night ethos that resounded most with him and he has done his best to stick to the Templar Code most of his life.

Personality Quirks

He is exceptionally picky about his food and goes to outrageous lengths to buy organic and locally sourced. Especially for Noah, he is almost maniacal about knowing where his food comes from, down to the farms and processes for growing and harvesting. He spends a lot of time and money supporting small and heritage farmers and farm practices. He grows many of his own herbs and flowers for the making of tea, blending several verities on his own. What he cannot grow himself, he scours the world to find and fund particular growers and practices.  This obsession has extended to Coffee over the last century or two as well.

Hygiene

While he was neat before, since living with Noah Relic is pathological about the keeping of their space, especially when it comes to who enters and what they leave behind.  If he goes Hunting or does violence, he is always very careful with his clothing and never lets any of it contaminate their life.

Religious Views

As a daemon, Relic knows some things.  He belonged to the House of Night, who were devout Catholics, and the Knights Templar.  His views on religion are a little more loose, as he knew where he fit into that equation and never much cared to imprint them on others.  Later in life, especially.  He has more of a 'people make their own heaven and hell' kind of attitude these days, even if he is well aware of the existence of places beyond the earth.

Relic is very social and smooth.  He's a good talker with a silver tongue and natural charm.  As a low level empath, he uses his understanding of the feelings of others to read their emotions and adapt.  He can be somewhat manipulative, but has a good sense of humor and is generally rather likable.
