Session 36: Gul hit the fan

Created by Ryan Augustine

General Summary

After Veleto Lotheed retired to her room for the night, the group discussed what to do with her the next day, and what their next plan of action was. During this though, a fight broke out between Taric and Chuck resulting a physical and verbal altercation. The night ended with Chuck leaving to stay in town at the Wolf’s Whisker for the night.   The next day started out normaily enough, as those at the Betony Estate talked to Veleto to understand her situation more, and to work to get her to return to the Birdsong Palace. During this, Chuck spotted Gul Gusairne in town, as Gul was traveling to the Betony Estate.   During his tailing of Gul, Chuck was stopped by a man named Sacero, Borget who has fallen on hard times. Chuck offered to help him, and he told Borget to meet him later at the Wolf’s Whisker. After that, Chuck continued his tail of Gul.   It was a good thing too. With Gul's arrival, he interrogated Taric, Ardit, and Idra. Taric, turned over Veleto in an attempt of good will, as well as to get rid of her, tried to smooth talk over Gul. Despite the truth of what Taric told Gul, Gul felt as if something seemed off with this turn of events.   Veleto, turning hostile to the group for feeling betrayed and tricked into having to return, turned on the Ardit claiming he had violated her overnight, and that he should be held accountable. This quick turn of events cought them off guard, and they were once again unable to convince Gul of their innocence.   Gul's original intention was to investigate the Night Swan and the odd upswing in moral as well as a general mood of defiance from the common people. The group explained to him that the disappearance of the recient tax collector was not of their doing and that other more plausible logistical stories had to be the truth. Again, unable to convince Gul of their innocence, he had heard enough, and demanded the group be taken to Lotheedar for further interrogation and imprisonment.   This did not fly, and a fight broke out. When the fight finished, only Gul and one of his three guards remained alive. The guard almost dead, but no longer bleeding, and Gul on the floor bleeding out.
