Daniila Kurem
Daniila is Raleigh's older brother from a different father. His own father was from Eoion and thus his name is more traditional to that area of the world than Yzel . His father was a scribe who had fled from the Shiroko empire and the unpredictable nature of the royal court.
After settling in Yzel, he faced a large amount of discrimination due to the tensions between the two countries. Daniila grew up with his father’s stigma. He was also given to psychopathy. At home, he constantly abused both his mother and younger brother. Through the years, he gathered other outcasts to him, other children of immigrants, social outcasts, malcontents, and petty criminals. At first, he treated the group as a gang, using one another for protection against discrimination. However, he soon began to see that he could more easily manipulate others into doing what he wanted by tying himself to religion. He chose Bolugama because of its close association with Eoion and preached to his followers of a coming war in which the two countries would clash, leaving the governments in shambles and a need for a new order to rise up, that being their group.
As the years passed, he gained a wider and wider following, his own status going from friend to leader to Dea within the eyes of the developing cult. In order to spark the war he preached about, he had his followers began attacking across the border. It was his group that first supplied the rumors about the Daji doing stitching experiments. His meeting of Richard occurred during a formal party thrown by the Daji. There, he was able to strike up the beginnings of a relationship with him that then turned to a romance, although he feels very little toward the man.
His right eye was replaced three years ago by an alchemically made one, his original having been lost in an attack by thieves on the road to Navaford. He told his followers his eye was cut out while he was in Leowit and the new eye implanted in order to try to overload his mind. He knows how disconcerting it can be and uses it to his advantage whenever possible.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Daniila is tall and slightly broad shouldered, although most of his height comes from long legs. His right eye was replaced with a new one made by alchemy. The eye is functional, but when it overloads, it will glow red and he has figured out how to do this more or less on command, something that he knows is disconcerting to people.
His hair is often left long. Such a style is very common in Eoion and he uses that, and the white in his hair (a trait often associated with the Shiroko Dynasty ) to solidify his connection to the northern empire.
Apparel & Accessories
Eoin clothing is difficult to get in Yzel so as much as he would like to use it, he rarely does. Instead, he tends to wear dark pants and leather boots. His shirt is often a white tunic. Over this, he wears a grey and black cardigan with fur lining the collar. The style is very unlike the fashions of either country and he uses it to draw attention to himself and separate from his followers.

He was educated in state run schools until leaving after the equivalent of high school. His knowledge of Bolugama comes mainly from reading.

He is unemployed and obtains an income from the money his cult makes and what he takes from his followers.

Motivation
At first, his main motivation was simply to have people around him he could order to do things. Using religion was a way to get them to comply and he was perfectly content to use his cultists for money, sex, etc. However, he began to believe his own lies and now truly believes that he is meant to rule both Yzel and Eoion. His goal is to topple them and install himself as ruler.

Hobbies & Pets
As a child, he enjoyed tormenting his younger brother. This hobby grew into manipulating the people around him. He also enjoyed studying reactions and imitating them to get what he wanted.
Since leaving home, he has taken up learning more about Bolugama, although this is more a necessity than hobby. While on the compounds, he enjoys giving long sermons simply because he likes being the center of attention.

His voice is deep and smooth, with a slight vibration in the words. Through the years, he has learned to vary the pitch and tone to better manipulate others.

History
Raleigh sees his brother as a terrifying monster, the one who abused him his entire childhood and who has turned their mother into a puppet. Daniila sees Raleigh as mildly amusing, someone to torment on occasion but not anyone he needs to concern himself with often.
