Magna Frenhinol
The Magna Frenhinol is the fouding document of Kingdom of Swynfaredia penned by the Founding Dragons of Swynfaredia: Fremiss the Vibrant, Numaness the Mystic, Kovenoth the Builder, and Gorisonad the Wise and countersigned by their many half-dragon children that formally established the Kingdom of Swynfaredia.
Purpose
The Magna Frenhinol was created to legitimize their land conquest and pave the way for further expansions. Also, the stated goals both in and outside the document was for the dragon-blood nobles to be able to rule without the need for scary dragons to reinforce it.
The Magna Frenhinol establishes dragon blood nobility as the rightful rulers of the land of Swynfaredia for all time and explains superciliously how this is for the greater good.
Historical Details
History
The Founding Dragons hatched a plan to create a human nation with a dragon-blooded magical aristocracy for at least a century and a half.
Once they had a several adult half-dragon children and a small army of men-at-arms sworn to them, they secured the territory now known as the Old Swynfaredia Region.
Public Reaction
Since the Founding Dragons carved out a realm in a fairly chaotic and divided section of land, most of the new nation's neigbors either didn't take heed of the Magna Frenhinol or were unable to do anything about it.
Those who initially opposed the new nation of Swynfaredia were far more concerned with the four dragons than their dozens of sorcery wielding half-dragon children.
A lot of Swynfaredia's earliest neighbors tried to stockpiled anti-dragon weapons and magic and there were a few failed attempts to assassinate the Founding Dragons.
These anti-dragon actions were ultimately for naught. After the signing of the Magna Frenhinol, the Founding Dragons never actually took on their full draconic forms in a military capacity.
Legacy
The Magna Frenhinol was amended twice after the First Swynfaredian Civil War and Second Swynfaredian Civil War.
First they revised the wording to clearly exclude squibs from holding hereditary titles.
Second, they revised to wording to clearly allow sorceresses to inherit.
While not formally in the document. A very thick book of addendums covers specific and circumstantial issues sorcerers and sorceresses inheriting claims and names from multiple families.
Term
The document reads "may Swynfaredia stand as a beacon to Scarterra for all time".
