Old Reivanta

"Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire."

--Seer Ankhkaroamatat, when codifying the Guardian Faith, in 2953 BBE (-2953).

The capital of Reivanta was a series of irrigated canals of water, where crops may be grown and pearls may be sifted up, which would both allow the nation to spread. It became a beautiful city over time, of columned cathedrals and gardened palaces. It was here that the great democracy blossomed.   It would be wrong to taint the memory of Reivanta with the image of what it became in it's final century. After the scourge of the First Jeriec Empire was eradicated from Evandyr, as modern historians note it, Reivanta spread from the Peak of Evandyr, east to the Sea of Zizyx, and north to the edge of the Bay of Evandyr.   Their faith and culture was built upon the notion that nothing existed or lasted, unless it was remembered. Massive libraries of papyrus scrolls and knowledge of their studies or histories have been lost to simple decomposition, but the most important of their recollections were carved into stone, to last millennia. This is how the Book of the Dead began. This began the practice of Reivantans being entombed with the inscriptions and invocations, a tradition which lasts to this day. The faith holds that the dead utilize their body in death, and need it to undergo the Second Death. This dissolving of the 'kheperu,' is the final step in any Story's path, when the core fundamentals are returned to the Themes of influence.   This was the driving force of Reivanta, the idea that you live on through the good you have done to the world. After the , the beliefs were split. Those that fled north, the survivors of Reivanta, named the Lessons of the Guardians into Commandments and said "The failures are a part of you, you cannot erase them! Learn from them and become better, so that you may pull yourself from sin!" Those that destroyed Reivanta, seeing the tyrannical majority that it had become, instead said "The failures we have made matter little compared to the good we have done!" Ironically, they were both close to the original truth, both wrong in some ways, and those that were exiled for disobeying the laws of the gods formed, in the end, the faith closer to the original laws.
--The Ravine of Whispers, the only path into Old Reivanta, if one may brave the Fiendwyrms. Few do. Less survive them.

So long as one of us lives to remember, none of us will ever die. That is why you cannot win.
