Gold Coin

Gold coins are the second most valuable Coin of Ruten and one of the most commonly used coins in The Material Plane. Octagonal in shape, they are usually stamped with the face or symbol of the region they were crafted in and often have the year of creation engraved along the edge of the coin. They are worth exactly ten Silver Coins, or two Electrum Coins in regions where electrum coins are traded. They are also used as the basis for most other currencies, with one notable exception being Astral Coins which instead use Platinum Coins as their basis.

Manufacturing process

Gold coins can be created in a standard minting facility, or illegally forged in a mold.

Legitimate gold coins are forged out of an average of seventy percent Gold and thirty percent other metals. Illegally forged gold coins can consist of a large variety of metals.
