Thelmoth Prefects
Structure
The Prefect regiments are organized very simply - just 10 companies of 100 Prefects each. Each squad has their own armored transport, along with each company having a squadron of Hellhounds equipped with heavy flamers. This feeds into their doctrine of high mobility and high firepower, driving forth across the battlefield to torch the enemy forces at their weakest.
Culture
The Prefects have access to resources that other regiments would only dream of, but they mainly use it for hosting events rather than on the field of battle. Even the smallest engagement is rewarded with a massive feast and ceremony. A majority of Prefects are adorned with twenty or more medals - most of which being worthless.
The induction into the Prefects is seen by Thelmoth nobility as more of a summer camp - making them a joke of a fighting force.

History
The Thelmoth Prefects used to be the simple defense forces of the hive, but over the millennia have turned into the scions of the capital's nobility. For nearly four-hundred years, all able-bodied non-direct heir members of the high-class houses on Thelmoth have been sent to serve in the Prefects once they come of age.
The Prefects have many victories and honors associated with their regiments, but other members of the Imperial Guard dispute this. According to their allies, the Prefects only show up right at the end of campaigns to fight in the final battle. Then they have their political divisions push out propaganda to the central worlds of the Roma sector about the victory they were instrumental in. This has created massive divisions between them and their Guard allies, as everyone else sees them as glory-thieves.
