Linna Trevell

Linna Trevell is a scholar and researcher based in the Laboratorium of Tatharia Capitolina. Known for her fierce curiosity and dedication to her studies, Linna has spent years delving into the mysteries of pre-Extinguishment civilizations, particularly their arcane artifacts. Her research has made her somewhat of an expert in the field of ancient lore, but it has also drawn her into dangerous territory, often brushing against those with far darker motivations. Despite her scholarly nature, Linna is resourceful and adaptable, traits that have served her well when her pursuit of knowledge has led her into risky situations.

Personal history

Linna grew up in a family of artisans, far removed from the scholarly life she would eventually pursue. Her parents were respected glassworkers, and Linna spent much of her early years helping them in their workshop. She had a natural talent for precision and craftsmanship, but her interests always lay elsewhere. Whenever she had free Time, Linna would sneak away to the city’s library, reading stories of ancient heroes, magical relics, and the civilizations that once thrived before the dark age.   This fascination only grew with age, leading her to pursue an education at the Laboratorium. She earned a place there by impressing one of the professors with her extensive knowledge and determination. Once admitted, she studied magical theory, history, and archaeology, quickly setting herself apart as a driven and perceptive student. She soon became known for her particular focus on pre-Dark Age artifacts and was taken under the wing of Professor Etrian Varos, one of the foremost researchers in the field.   Though her work was primarily academic, Linna found herself drawn to the practical aspects of field research. She joined several expeditions to ancient ruins, always hungry to see firsthand the remnants of the past. It was on one such expedition that she first encountered the dangers of her chosen field—not just the physical risks of exploring old, crumbling sites, but also the political and criminal interests tied to the artifacts she studied. Linna had a close brush with a black-market dealer during an expedition, a moment that showed her just how valuable, and dangerous, ancient relics could be.   Over time, Linna became more cautious but no less curious. She has developed a small network of informants and contacts outside the academic community—people who can help her track down artifacts and provide protection when necessary. She prefers to stay on the right side of the law, but she has learned that the pursuit of knowledge sometimes requires bending the rules. Her relationship with Etrian Varos became both a mentorship and a partnership, as they worked together to unravel the mysteries of the past, often sharing notes and theories late into the night.
