Aetherite Crystal Tower Node

Banor's Fingers

In the heart of Mount Origin, where the veil between the planes grows thin, lies a towering crystal formation known as the Aetherite Crystal Tower Node. Shimmering with an otherworldly light, it pierces the heavens like a shard of the Astral Plane itself. The Elves of Iquasilath whisper its name in reverence, calling it one of "Banor's Fingers".

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Magical Properties

  • Attunement: Any number of creatures can touch the crystal to attune to it. Upon attunement, all spell slots are immediately restored. A creature cannot benefit from this effect again until they attune anew.
  •
  • Range: The attunement remains as long as the creature is within 5 miles of the Aetherite Crystal Tower Node. Leaving this range immediately ends the attunement.

Limitations
A creature cannot attune to this Aetherite Crystal Tower Node if they are already attuned to this one or another of its kind.

Subtle Machinations of Magical Substances

  1. Aetheric Resonance Interaction: When a conscious being comes into contact with one of Banor's Fingers, their unique Aetheric Resonance interacts with the crystal. This interaction triggers the immediate restoration of all spell slots for the being, provided they attune to the crystal.
  2.
  3. Attunement Process: The Aetherite Crystal Tower Node, being a physical manifestation of the Aether, is naturally attuned to the Aetheric Resonances of conscious beings. Upon physical contact, the crystal offers the choice of attunement. Once attuned, the being's spell slots are restored.
  4.
  5. Range Limitation: The attunement remains effective as long as the being is within a 5-mile radius of the crystal. Exiting this range results in immediate de-attunement.
  6.
  7. Multiple Attunements: The crystal allows for multiple simultaneous attunements, but a being cannot be attuned to more than one Aetherite Crystal Tower Node at a time.
  8.
  9. Aetheric Stability: Given the artifact's rarity and the limited number of such nodes, the risk of Aetheric corruption is minimal. However, the Law of Aetheric Resonance implies that negative or unstable resonances could, in theory, affect even these powerful artifacts.
  10.
  11. Interplanar Energies: In line with Master Aberran's theories, it is plausible that Banor's Fingers serve as focal points for interplanar energies, making them not just artifacts of power but also potential nexuses for planar interactions.

History

Legend tells of an ancient Sorcerer who, bathed in the light of all the Stars of Power, pressed his finger into the very earth. From that touch sprang forth this colossal crystal. The village of Three Falls was founded in its shadow, its people natural-born sorcerers drawn to the node's arcane allure. The Sanctum of the Sun and Moons in Three Falls holds the myth close, a tale passed down through countless generations.   Master Aberran, the late Tatharian scholar, postulated that the node is a focal point of interplanar energies, a theory that finds echoes in the Elven name for these formations.
