Lord Caer Ferrand
(a.k.a. Earl of Providentia)
Lord Caer Ferrand is the aging ruler of Providentia. He has two sons, Maynard and Reynard. Though Maynard is the older, Reynard was recently announced as his heir. Later the old Earl officially gave up his position, handing the title to Reynard. Since then Reynard has moved on to become First Consul of the fledgling republic. Lord Caer continues to live in the Iron Fortress in his home town of Providentia. Though Reynard is technically Earl, Lord Caer has resumed most of the duties of the local lord in Reynard's continued absence.
