09. Foundations of Flame
With the knowledge that many of the leaders of the city council were dead or members of an evil
cult, High Priestess Jenya called a meeting to work out the new leadership of the city. In the
middle of this meeting a group a dwarves, working for the Cagewrights, attacked but were
defeated. As the meeting broke up strange skies began to form over head and the city began to
tremble as tremors shook it. It appeared the volcano was starting to erupt!
Although they knew the teleportation code to the Fiery Sanctum, and wished to take the fight to
the Cagewrights directly, Jenya convinced the party that they were needed to help evacuate the
city and that they had time to help save the people, who were more important than the bricks and
mortar of Cauldron. The party rushed hither and thither dousing fires, saving people and fighting
the strange denizens of Carceri who began to arrive in the city as the volcano strained to erupt
beneath them.
