08. Lords of Oblivion
In Chapter Eight the party were finally able to start taking the fight to the Cagewrights.
Having found out who they were and what they seemed to be up to at the end of Chapter Seven,
Chapter Eight started with the group discovering Shensen had been captured by members of the
Last Laugh. They went and rescued her finding that her captors were none other than Jil and other
members of Harley's crew. Harley made a secret deal with them that if he could get rid of the
Jester he would take control of the Last Laugh. They discovered that Jil had captured Shensen
because she was watching Lady Thifirane's house and a clandestine party was due to happen that
that night.
The party then gate crashed the party at Lady Thifirane's where she was trying to recruit many of
the more disreputable of Cauldron's fellows. They killed her and the Jester, and defeated the Blue
Duke and Adrick Garthun who were both given their freedom. This left them with more
information but a bit of a dead end as to how to find the Fiery Sanctum, the Cagewrights lair. So
they decided to investigate Lord Vhalantru's house.
Under Lord Vhalantru's house they found the lair of the beholder Orbius. They fought many
guardians and allies and eventually located the beholder who they defeated. They found a magical
suit which the beholder was able to wear to take the form of the half elf Vhalantru. And they
found the teleportation code to the Fiery Sanctum.
