Lagunov Robotics
Lagunov Robotics is a Perovyan company responsible for pioneering the first advanced robotics, including being responsible for the creation of SAR-001, the first robotic to pass the Turing test. The company gained significant recognition and political power after the initial terminal of the ISDR fell out of orbit and was replaced with the Janus Terminal created by Lagunov Robotics.
History
Elene Lagunov obtained her software engineering degree at the Stanovaya Institute of Mechanical Engineering but struggled to get and keep a job during the recession of 2109 which had caused many robotics manufacturers to go bankrupt and out of business. Elene founded Lagunov Robotics after a few years of hopping between short-lived robotics jobs, and the creation of the company is largely credited for the driving force behind the end of the recession.
In 2138, Elene began work on a livable satelite that would be launched into space and attatched to the ISDR to replace the initial terminal which had fallen out of orbit in 2067. Following this, Lagunov Robotics continued to create more terminals which were safer and more hospitable than the former terminals, causing researchers to return to the ISDR. In 2203 Lagunov Robotics launched the Dionysus Terminal, a large residential terminal for the ISDR which was available to every day citizens as a travel destination. As the ISDR and for pleasure space travel industry expands Lagunov Robotics adds a new terminal approximately once every 70 years.
A.I.
As the leaders of both robotic and A.I. development, the Lagunov Robotics corporate headquarters is suchly augmented. Every inch of the building is electronically connected - from the computers and security cameras to the projectors, bathrooms, and even floors with weight sensors. This system of connected devices is referred to as the the building's "nerve system". Though the nerve system, a highly advanced A.I. is able to monitor every person and activity and has an automated security system it can dispach when nessecary. The A.I. also serves as an assistant role, able to perform tasks on and in the building when requested by employees of a certain level and above. The A.I. was first implemented in 2122 which initially only functioned in Elene Lagunov's office as a personal assistant. Over time the A.I. was expanded to encompass and serve the entire building. The original A.I. was replaced in October of 2142. This new A.I. (refered to as "Nerve") was a much more advanced than the previous A.I. who could only follow simple orders. Nerve had a highly complex speech processing device, allowing it to understand much more complicated sentence structures, and respond in a naturally and realistic way.
