3rd Pelspar War

In 309 Gz, a Linnadean Navy cutter patrolling the Straits of Gemsler stumbled across a group of vessels from the Pelspar navy. The group included two diving barges, a heavy ironclad and two fifth-rate frigates. When challenged, the Pelspar ships opened fire, sinking the cutter. While most of the lifeboats were sunk, eight survivors managed to escape in a lifeboat and return to the Linnadean coast.
The Pelspar ambassador to Linnadeigh was summoned to an inquiry in the Overthing, where she claimed the Pelsparran vessels had been conducting a hydrographic survey. The Linnadean Navy argued that the location coincided with the wreck of the Ardent, a Linnadean transport ship that sank in 307 Gz carrying classified technical prototypes.
The Linnadean Navy blockaded the dive site, sinking a Pelsparran ship and damaging two more. The remaining vessels fled, and the Overthing declared war on Pelspar.
Notable battles include the Battle of Dragon Tides, where Pelspar attempted to blockade Linnedean coal supplies; the Battle of Trencher's Point, where a small Linnadean flotilla delayed a Pelsparran fleet long enough to complete defences at the Rimeway Estuary; and the ensuing Battle of Pelspar's Folly.
The war continued over four years, primarily at sea but with occasional raids on land, particularly in the colonies. Eventually Pelspar sued for peace, ceding four of its colonies in Lhupol, M'nchroaf, Grand Yardarm and Laclay to Linnadeigh. Linnadeigh returned occupied territories in western Pelspar.
