Katya Roland

Katya Roland is the leader of the Rapids Syndicate and owner of a popular bathhouse on Riverfront Street. Katya grew up in the River Quarter alongside Rory Blake. A water gifted, she became a smuggler at fifteen, running small items past the wards as soon as the river melted. She began organizing the other riverfront smugglers, many of them her age, into a cohesive group to prevent someone undercutting prices and to provide a network that offered protection from Cohort crackdowns by passing along vital information. Within a few years, the Rapids Syndicate formed into a distinctly recognized entity in Rime. After a series of floods that wiped out many riverfront homes and small colonies, Katya purchased a plot of land and built her bathhouse, which employs her people during off season months and also provides living accomodations for its workers.
