Brook

Brook is a former emissary of the Star Syndicate, and was at least rumored to be its leader Marcus's lover and confidante. When he ordered her to use her water gift to infiltrate the Rapids Syndicate and give him information that would bring Katya down, she refused, since the Rapids employed and protected many Seachosen like herself, something Marcus rarely did unless he found them specially useful. Marcus beat her and assuming he had killed her, ordered his men to dispose of her body in the river. Brook's gift kept her alive until she was found by Katya's people near the bathhouse. Katya took her in and helped her recover, in exchange for her information on the Star.

Facial Features

Brook has a vast amount of scarring on her face, especially on the right side, that she tends to hide with loose hair. Her right eye is missing and scarred over.

Identifying Characteristics

Brook has a tattoo on her left hand and arm depicting the Seachosen legend of the gift of letters, a squid and pearl diver with the twelve basic letters of Archipelegian held in the tentacles of the squid depicted on her hand, and some of the accents and flourishes as well.
