The nightlands vamkala have abandoned the ways of their sister species, survival is paramount in the nightlands.

Anatomy

Anatomically the nightlands vamkala are very similar to the pre-Revision vamkala, except their skin is much darker and their skin tones no longer have a melanin based coloration, instead their skin tones are on a grey scale with slight blue or purple under tones.

Genetics and Reproduction

Because the nightlands vamkala were not revised like normal vamkala, they reproduce normally.
The genetic similarity between the normal and nightlands vamkala means that it is theoretically possible for both peoples to produce offspring, but because of the nightlands vamkala's high radiation environment, their bodies can be poisonous to a fetus, so if the child does not take up the enhanced resistance of the nightlands vamkala, it likely wont survive to term.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Most nightlands vamkala live in the nightlands, but it is not uncommon for them to be found outside of it, but those who leave rarely put down roots where they go.

Average Intelligence

The Nightlands have made these vamkala more cunning and intuitive, and less rigid than their sister species, but they do not have the encyclopedia like memory of the standard vamkala.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Nightlands vamkala have an uncanny sense for when the Rift is about to unleash a storm, and other abnormalities in near by astral space.

Civilization and Culture

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Because of the close proximity in shared tribes, most nightlands vamkala are most comfortable with astroci and keneci.
Dracos are respected as great warriors, but generally from a distance as they rarely incorporate with the shared tribes.
Most of their experience with insectid are those with The Mad Hive, so they are weary from a distance, but if they see no savage intent they are somewhat more relaxed.
Most other species are outside of the Nightlands, and thus seem remarkable or alien. Notably their sister species seems bizarre with such a societal shift to leisure or personal pursuits, as opposed to survival, but their technological marvels are awed and respected.
