Operation Bulldog
The Conflict
Prelude
The Second Star League wanted to send a message to the Clans that to renew the invasion at the completion of the Truce of Tukayyid would be foolish. They decided that the best way to accomplish this was to annihilate one of the invading clans, not just in the Inner Sphere, but entirely. This would be accomplished by Operation Bulldog and Task Force Serpent. The Smoke Jaguar clan was choosen as they were known as the fiercest fighters in the invasion. Bulldog was to be the expulsion of the Smoke Jaguars
Deployment
Trinh Tran-Kruger led a battalion strength task force during the operation. They would be reinforced later by the members of the Operation Bird Dog team.
The Engagement
The first battle of the operation was on Asgard on May 1st. Two lances of Riesenjager fought a binary of Smoke Jaguars. Both sides kept their distance and shelled each other at range. The clan battle lines eventually broke into a fighting withdrawl after a Kraka pilot managed to land a fatal shot on the binary's commander. The remains of the binary were persued until they were destroyed or disabled. Clean up operations of the planet would begin shortly afterward.
The next planet the Riesenjager would strike was Caripare, which had already been softened by Operation Bird Dog. The Riesenjager made landfall on the planet and regrouped with the Bird Dog team which had suffered recent casualties. While Bird Dog departed on their final fight, the Bulldog team would be sent out to fight the planet's garrison alongside the SLDF. On June 21st they would encounter a star of Smoke Jaguar mechs and do battle with them. Shortly after the Riesenjager won their portion of the trial, a wildfire erupted in the forests that made up the theater of battle. This blaze masked the departure of the remaining Smoke Jaguar garrison as the pulled out of Caripare, leaving it for the Second Star League.
