The Alliance of Galoria

The largest continent on the Material Plane, a massive land divided into several large provinces with unique geographical, economic and cultural differences. Once upon a time, each province was a separate country. Now they are all united, meeting in the centre of the land to discuss politics.

Geography

The provinces of Galoria are as follows:   Eterna, The Central Province of Tomorrow. Founded on the ruins of an ancient battlefield after the Sundering. Its location and culture reflect a cosmopolitan society. Post-Spark, the cities of Eterna have been known for their heavy industry, and as such nowadays the province is mostly the homeland of gnomes and humans.   Kaamos, The Northern Province of Night and Day. A frigid northland with rolling hills and mountains to the south bordering on Eterna, large swathes of swampland to the west, and great frozen lakes to the north. It’s the largest province in terms of area, though much of the northern tundra is uninhabitable above ground. Thought to be the birthplace of the Dwarves, who spend their entire lives in complex enclaves underground.   Inishi, The Eastern Province of Ancients. Also known as the Dragon Peninsula, this eastern province juts out of Kaamos to the north and across the Ancient Sea to Eterna to the west. Its culture is a strange mishmash of ancient conservative traditions held by the Dragonborn, and the forward-thinking inventions concocted by the Tabaxi. Human settlers have also populated the area.   Aldheim, The Western Province of Timelessness. Literally the ‘Ancient Home’ in elven tongue, the tranquil western forests are what remains of the ancestral homes of the elves. Elegant cities house the High Elves, whilst the Wood Elves make their livelihoods in the giant trees as Forest Gnomes build quaint villages in the undergrowth.   Zaman, The Southern Province of the Sun and Moon. Wastelands to the north, ocean to the south with great scorching deserts and wild scrublands in between. Most of civilization is concentrated on the beaches and volcanic islands offshore, but the desert contains ruins of the Old World buried in sand. Tieflings have sought refuge on the volcanic areas for centuries, their resistance to heat granting their communities relative peace.   Onamata, The Outer Province of the Stars. To describe in natives’ terms, ‘a great big floating island in the middle of nowhere’. Onamata is a naturally skybound island archipelago floating above the ocean far off the west coast of Galoria. Built up over the years into flying cities, nobody knows what keeps it aloft-- but most reckon it has something to do with the elemental Plane of Air.
