The Ascription

The Ascription is the process in which a new born child is assigned a guardian god. This takes place soon after the birth, as soon as the parent can contact a herald of the faith. The herald will visit the child for an initial examination, mostly pertaining to genertal health and wellbeing, from here he will leave to conduct a series of observation of the moon, weather and stars (signs of the gods) to ascertain the appropriate guardian god for the child. The herald will return several days later to reveal the childs guardian god, often done so after recieving payment for his services.
