Sawyer

The Sawyer is the individual who will cut the trees taken from the forestries into planks, whether they be intended for building ships, buildings or for expensive furniture, all planks come from the sawyer. Larger saw-yards may have dedicated pits in which one of the two-man sawyer team would be as they cut vertically through the large log. Smaller planks may be made with a large horizontal saw, still operated by two, suitable for less precise and smaller planks.
