Petty Kingdom of Bolot

The Petty Kingdom of Bolot was a kingdom established by Ardic tribes that had migrated south from the Arda Valley, their new kingdom being established within the boundaries of the modern Surcounties of Ilkweir, Kilncross, Ingus and Sjolund. The lasting influence of the petty kingdom is mostly within the lineage of many nobles families which extend back to Ardic heritage, other more physical reminders can be visited such as the famous Tower of Bolot. The kingdom of Bolot faced its main rival in that of the Caenen Kingdom, a Doric Kingdom nestled in the Dorian Mountains and lower Yarrow valley. Bolot would prove to be the victor of the two rival kingdoms as their king eventually managed to overthrow the monarch of the Caenen people, although his extended domain would collapse when he would be murdered in a revolt just a few months afterwards. In the aftermath, the petty kingdom of Bolot would be split between the three sons of the late king. One would take possession of the lands north of the Tora River, becoming a progenitor to most noble families endemic to the Surcounty of Sjolund. One would take the lands to the west of the Dorian Mountains, holding the former crownlands of the petty kingdom and the lands that would become the Surocunties of Ilkweir, Ingus and Kilncross. The last son would inherit the former lands of the Caenen Kingdom and unlike his father, would integrate himself and his dynasty into the local culture ultimately securing their place as Ardic-turned-Doric rulers of the Doric people.
