Last Fire

The Last Fire takes place during the 21st of Joula as the hours of light become shortest, during this event a large bonfire is created into which symbolic axes are thrown. The ritual is symbolic of destroying the weapon with which Suna was slain with in order to please and tempt out the sun again. The celebration is accompanied by drinking and it is customary to make amends of conflicts during this time.
