Ilkweir

Ilkweir is a large town located in the southwest of Doria, the town is largely dependant on trade and its extensive agriculture to provide for its residents, the town serves as a hub for the region and provides monthly markets for the eager buyer. Ilkweir, unlike many of the more important towns and cities in the Grand Duchy of Canyndor, did not come into prominence until more recent times. The land around Ilkweir had largely been marsh and thin soil below the mountain slopes, just about as far from the fertile lands that lay there now as could be. A dam was built further up the river that runs through the town, allowing for the lower valley to become suitable for agriculture, Ilkwier having sprung up over the first bridge gate built upon the neutered river.
