Huorvo

Huorvo, son of the Alkutari God Lehto, is the deity of architecture and known guardian of the carpenter and mason. His father, Lehto, was said to be intensely jealous of the creative skill of his brother Tarta, whose woodland domain teemed with life and detail. In comparison, Lehto's grasslands had become tranquil fields upon fields, nary an inhabitant other than the great spirits of Sumonarmi and Auronarmi. As the forests began to encroach on Lehto grasslands, he set out to even the score. He created his son Huorvo to do precisely that, trees would be felled, the brush burned and from its ashes marvellous constructions would be built that could rival the beauty and complexity of the great tree canopies of Tarta's making.
