Halfsburgh

Halfsburgh is the capital of the Kingdom of Redoria, a fortress city on the edge of Lake Drake, it is claimed that the settlement dates back to a time where man and god could communicate face to face. It was said that the leader of the rebellion against the gods, Turmoniin the Betrayer, was the one who eventually settled in the location and his predecessors continued to rule till modern times, even the current king of Redoria still claims to be the descendant of Turmoniin. The palace of the monarch in Halfsburgh sits atop a great, fortified hill, the town below surrounded again by formidable fortifications. The city also has a large port where it can deal in trade across lake drake, being in a suitable location for trade with Brondholm overland, or more commonly, through further smaller shipping routes.
Halfsburgh is often referred to as the Cursed City, being infamous for the many macabre relics and monuments housed there said to date back to the time when gods laid feet upon Tuono. As one enters the city, they must first pass through the Field of Bones, a vast graveyard that surrounds the city where soldiers and great leaders are buried upon their death in battle. Once within the walls of the ancient settlement, further gruesome sights await. The Temple of the Dead - Tomb of Turmoniin is a well known wonder, a tomb the houses the grave of Turmoniin as well as a hideous shrine to Mukko. The riches held within the tomb are said to outweigh that of any man alive, King or Emperor. Perhaps the most sickening artefact lays by the eastern docks, known as the Wailing Baths. These pools are the resting place of many an unfortunate soul, torturous wells of acidic water and blood-lusting sea creatures infest them even to this day.
