Falconer

Falconry is a popular pastime of the noble classes within the grasslands, the noble birds being both status symbols as well as excellent hunting companions. The Falconer is responsible for caring for the falcon, providing shelter and food for the animal when the owners party is at rest as well as taking care of transporting the falcon when the owner's party is travelling. A falconer will generally be part of the mainstay household of the nobleman who owns the falcon, more often than not being provided with shelter on the nobleman's property. Though there are falconers who live separately from the owners of the falcons which they keep, this is rather rare as it generally requires a great amount of upkeep (live-in falconers often being provided funds separate to their pay to provide feed and equipment for the bird), leaving only the already independently wealthy who could house the falcons of their profession on their own rented or owned land.
