Amarathi

The Amarathi are a collection of similar ethnic groups who had settled the plains to the west of the Balomite mountains. The Amarathi people had established prosperous civilisations among the plains, forming networks of independent city-states and rural communities. They had largely been isolated from their neighbours in the Central Kingdoms and Breuic, having minimal trade via the Ochar Sea due to long-held superstitions of the perilous south-western plains. The Amarathi believed in demons that roamed the plains at the edge of Tuono, they preyed to elemental idols that would keep these demons subdued. However, the superstitions of the Amarathi may have proved to be true. A large scale exodus of the Amarathi people occurred several centuries ago, entire cities and communities vanished as the people fled eastward. Those that arrived within the central kingdoms told their hosts about the white demons that rode upon the plains on the backs of lions, they scorched the earth and devoured those they could capture. The Numari where what they called these demons. Though most non-Amarathi who heard the tales refused to believe them, there was little they could do to disprove them either. Thousands upon thousands of Amarathi people came and continued to come for centuries, The kingdoms bordering the Balomites even establishing outposts to contain them, and perhaps this mystical Numari threat.
