The Lock Box

This renovated warehouse has been adapted to become Fusa's defacto prison. Ever since their separation from Magnus only twenty some years ago, the city did not have the legal infrastructure put in place to accommodate those who break the law and what those laws are. Since then though the Factory Barons have established themselves as the head of public relations and their grunts have been effectively deputized by the leadership of the city. Now if you cross them they can detain you and there is a place to drop you if your crimes are deemed worthy enough of jailing and not just a beating in the streets.

Architecture

This primarily stone and metal structure was built to function as a warehouse for the mine's exports. This is the reason for the large open floor design for the first and second floors. Cells are built onto the main floor, but the second floor was left open to the first floor. The sublevel, "dungeon," was meant to act potentially as cold storage but is now where the worst of those locked go. Windows can be found on the floor in corners where ventilation was placed for the warehouse, those are still in place while the ones that had originally lined the walls had been replaced with bars or wall.

Defenses

The facility is protected by the Barons' Men. A group of former factory workers who have taken on the role of Fusan's police force. The building has fortified entry ways that can be barred if need be. Additionally, the cells are not locked by normal keys, but by that of high level Lock spells, that can temporarily disabled with the use of one of the wands worn by some of the guards inside.

History

The building once belonged to the Miner Lords for their use in mining operations be it the storage of goods or equipment. But when crime became too rampant after the civil war with Magnus, the only way to keep the city from falling apart entirely was to begin taking a western style law into their hands. The Fusan Lords appointed the Barons to the task of managing it and in turn the Barons' Men were born. But that wasn't the only issue, once the problematic folks have been dealt with they needed a jailing system. It was at this point the Miner Lords had to give up one of their warehouses to be turned into the city's new prison and ownership changed hands to the Factory Barons.
