The rank of Progenitor is held only by the Vampire Aristocrat Mikaela Akari and labels him as the most formidable and respectable Vampire Noble in existence. In the absence of a Vampire Royal The Progenitor would hypothetically be recognized as the ruler of vampire kind until their return. Hypothetically speaking any Higher Aristocrat whose life has been linked to a Original Vampires can claim the title of Progenitor, however, Mikaela is the only Aristocrat who has ever been granted such an honor and is thus often referred to as "Sole Progenitor Mikaela".
