Introduction
The British Empire came to a swift end by 2026 when Queen Elizabeth perished of old age and decreed that the Monarchy is to be abolished as her final wish as Queen. A Period of turmoil overtook Britain with a Leftwards wing of the British Labour Party emerging as the dominant ideology of Britain. Inspired by the concept of a Free Republic, The Newly forming British Republic instated many reforms including the total and complete decolonization of all Semi Colonies including Ireland. This brief nation was one of Hope, Freedom, Equity and Science. Exceeding all expectations. Not only rejoining the EU but turning it into a powerful Union State against the Neo Axis and rapidly invested and empowered many semi-colonies, turning the Republic of Ireland for example into a powerful player in Europe. Using its immense former Imperialist capital to build the greatest Union against Fascism the World has ever seen. Proudly proclaiming "Free Britannia!" as it spread the ideology of Democracy and Anti Colonialism to every stretch of the world it could. Boldly dreaming of an alternative and brighter future, inspiring future states like SATO to do the same.Government
Reforming the Parliamentary system, Business and Religion was taken out of the picture with the House of Lords Erased and the British Supreme Court renamed and reformed into the People's Court as the leading court system of the world. To say Britain Democratized is underselling it. Pooling Millions of pounds into creating a new voting system that allowed the people through the use of Unions and organizations to have a real effect on the government. Every position became Elected and a New Bill of Rights was created. A New Queen was elected and Annalise Wulf who would serve as a Political and emergency leader made wholly accountable to the people. The Concept of Established Aristocracy and eventually the concept of classes was erased from the Government making it only an obligation to the people.Parliament System
Maintaining Parliament, the British allowed anyone from any party to run for a seat which led to a grand diversification of the floor with Votes of No Confidence being accessible to the general public and having the ability to excise specific ministers from the government if they are displeased with their performance. Next, the House of Commonwealths was created which had representatives of all those in the commonwealth able to make their case heard and felt directly to the British Government. In a total course correction from Thatcher-era politics, British Unions were suddenly and rudely awakened, supersized and funded and charged with the Responsibility to keep the government on its toes. Forming together these Unions became massive advocacy groups with a direct impact on government and business. In 2028 the House of Unions was formed in a similar spirit to the House of Commonwealths with its specific goal being the interests of the people, removed from distractions allowing at least one part of Parliament to always be working on rights and ensuring accountability.The Rights of British States

By the Decree of newly Crowned Annalise Wulf and the co-signing and permission of the British Parliament. Within the first few years, the entire policing system was thrown out and complete remade into a fully unionized and Democratized system of Communal Policing with departments serving specifically and only the communities in which they exist. Accountable to the courts and to the unions and thus the people. Over the course of a few years, White Supremacy was thoroughly and sometimes violently stamped out as a Zero tolerance policy became the norm when concerning bigotry and abuse of power. The Courts were also drastically overhauled and completely changed with judges being Electable and Impeachable ensuring there would never again be an Absolute ruler in Britain.De-Nazification
Far Right Politics was cracked down on with Terrorist groups swiftly dismembered and destroyed by the SAS and Mi5. Policies were overhauled, and entire systems were uprooted. Systemic problems were significantly reduced enough to nearly be forgotten about. Eventually unifying with other commonwealth forces swiftly changing its doctrines and updating every little detail. Upgrading the arsenal of the British Military to become one of the world's greatest fighting forces with one of the most powerful navies in the world. Excellence was the name of the game, everything was designed for winning world war 3 and spreading Liberty and Anti Colonialism across the world. The existing branches of the military continued on with each one being changed to better fit the goal of Global Liberation. Starting out as a small militia, it was seen as the most capable military force in Scotland and many Scottish military members signed on to transform it into the State army of Scotland. It saw a lot of action as a Homeguard, protecting Scotland and Northern England during the war. After 2026 radical reforms shook the economy to its core, fundamentally changing everything about British Companies. Many formerly privatized companies were re-nationalized and a slew of Renewable reforms took over with giant investments made into renewable energy that super-empowered the British power Economy and shot way ahead of all of its neighbour's partners, adversaries and otherwise across the world. Creating a Gift Economy and through the use of Democratized Companies and speedy and efficient regulation and control, they were able to create the world's first functional Gift economy that would give to allied nations in return for other gifts eventually creating a Restrained Capitalist system that restricted it's worst excesses and dramatically amplified every benefit one could think of.How did it Work?

You give to get back and the way to affirm your capital was to live up to your commitments. Suddenly massive excess of money is seen as a bad thing as it means you are investing very little in your capital and will be unlikely to see any returns and thus either stagnate or simply fail. Britain would gift France a ton of wheat during a time of need and in return, France would give additional solar panels to Britain in their time of need. An Old Style Capitalist could have all the money in the world but nothing exactly confirms his returns thus rendering his Capital mute. He could rig the system for more money but as he does, the value of that money becomes worthless and thus erasing the capital of your wealth and converting it to a useless pile of junk. The new system put a lot of value on sharing as a way of collecting IOU's making the economy diverse and adaptive. Rather than a bunch of rich men in a room agreeing to make an Oil factory no one needs, they'll be in a room agreeing to build a solar factory because a Green Union essentially invested in them. This made it possible for the average person to accrue capital and with the erasure of Class as a concern, this made this less threatening to those with capital because if there is more to go around then more can be done. Success was measured by results rather than Wealth, while it was true the British Economy sunk massively in the amount of money it had, what it could do with that money greatly expanded. Suddenly they were able to maintain a Military budget 2x the size of the US in 2020 with far less money simply because the value of every pound was greatly boosted and thus created a stable flow of capital through the system. No longer was it about building your Capital but the Capital of your Community and your Nation as the concept of shared wealth became widespread. You invest in roads because better roads mean better business and better business means more capital for you to use for your own goals and agenda which would transfer that capital to new hands who'll go on to do the same.Short Comings
For a few years, Britain ran a severe deficit in wealth as it overspent on the maximum capacity for future projects, sinking the amount of overall money the government had for years. Creating a giant debt that would have taken decades to eventually pay off but this was mediated as the effects of this were spread over the entire country instead of the lower classes as there was no longer a lower class. International Debts also defaulted if Britain had existed as it was and the world did not fall into Nuclear Nightmare then they would have a debt problem internationally and would have to resolve that debt through investments and favours to other countries to close their massive billion-dollar debt. Another shortcoming was an immediate system shock and an early crash in British stocks which was in the process of fixing before the world came to a violent nuclear climax. It also instantly shot down billions of jobs across the country which it had to refocus and rework to get billions of British citizens back working in new and more productive positions. Since the billions of worthless and pointless jobs were swiftly axed. Cutting billions of pounds of the NHS also caused horrific growing pains in the medical system and took time to adjust properly but was well on its way to peak optimal performance before the bombs dropped. Nationalization also caused institutional chaos that took years to resolve but for the first time in many, many years, many formally privatized companies actually made profits in 2027 with companies catching up soon after. There were also temporary but severe shortages in power, food, water and everything else as the systems radically transformed and were reworked. the shortages came to an end in 2026. Much of this was reasonable though as similar fallouts were occurring across the world unrelated to the shift and people in Britain got their comfort faster the majority of nations across the world, including America. Much of it was explained as necessary growing pains to prepare for the inevitable collapse of the Unsustainable global system.Culture
After the ruthless uprooting of Imperialist and Elitist Culture in Britain, Community and Country became big focuses. Instead of celebrating the monarchy, the populace celebrates successes in their own communities and their own cultures. Multicultural exchanges became pretty common as well as a celebration of English culture. There was a resurgence of old fashion styles from various eras with newsboy caps, the smart 1940s-50's look as well as colourful bombastic outfits. Acceptance of other cultures increased year over year with cultural clothing of other cultures being worn openly and proudly across the country. It was a resurgence of music, art, expression, theatre and movies. Cities were colourful and full of life, the embracing of community and culture electrified British commerce and boosted entertainment industries as well as overall production. While there was a very violent and potent pushback from conservative politics, the overwhelming support of the system made this less of a temporary fad, a blimp on the radar and into a proper cultural trajectory that continues even in post-nuclear Britain.Educated Populace
Along with the electric explosion of culture in the Republic's brief existence, was also an explosion of education. There was free accessibility to any and all information which radically transformed the overall capability of the populace and kicked up productivity. Envious nations often called British people 'Busy Bees' derogatorily, making them seem as if they're inhuman hard workers. The average competence of people in the Republic steadily increased year over year, allowing more to be done with less. This also fundamentally changed the game of politics as it was easier for the educated populace to catch lies and knew where to go when they missed something.Politics
As described before, getting elected was no longer a matter of catchy slogans, flashy presentations and whatnot. Now people can clue in on your bullshit far more often. In order to win elections, a level of competence was required. This immediately sunk 98% of the British Political market causing multiple long-standing names to fail and fade into irrelevance as an entirely new political 'class' functionally came into existence, more adapted to the New World of Politics in Republican Britain. Overall the main parties that thrived in this environment were multiple flavours of Left Wing Politics, socially speaking this is the first time that things like Nationalism, exceptionalism and supremacy took a back seat and Right Wing ideas were not so pervasive. The main struggle was whether Britain was to progress to full socialism one day or continue in this reformed capitalist system. It was also not binary and nor was it polarized, instead in a refreshing change of pace. Politics was well informed, well reasoned and not theatrical. What was a big piece of politics though was the inherent anti-fascism of this new government and their unified commitment to undo the sins of the past and herald a new brighter future?Retrospection
