Six Truths about the village of Marish
  1. A town elder Bantia is the leader of the village.
  2. A small chapel to Ashtyr is located at the edge of town.
  3. The people of the village hunt, fish, gather valuable fungus, gather peat for fuel and brave ones find treasures in the Skullmire Marsh.
  4. The undead of the marsh have always been a problem for the village, but protective wards have kept the worst at bay.
  5. Lizardfolk tribes live in the marsh and some come to trade with the folk of Marish.
  6. While the people of Marish officially answer to the Duchy of Tarna they are left alone and are proud of their independence.

Demographics

Mostly humans and dwarves living in Marish. Elves find being this close to Skullmire Marsh distasteful. A smattering of lizardfolk and sakasta have also made the town their home. The fishing is really good.

Government

Bantia the Elder is the leader of the community. The town goes to her for advice on all things, and on rare occasions when officials from the Duchy come to the town, Bantia is the one they talk to. Hylos Felheart is her man on the street and is loyal to her. It is understood that if Hylos asks you to do something is Bantia talking.

Points of interest

  • Marshlight Square is literally a square platform of wood built around an old willow tree near the Marsh Road where folk bring wares and goods to trade. It also acts as an assembly place. 
  • Pickle House is the tavern and inn where some cots can be set up in the common room. 
  • The chapel to Ashtyr in the southwest portion of the town close to the marsh.
